⚠️ Protect Yourself From Online Pet Scams!

I created this web-page to warn visitors about the dangers of online pet scams, especially those targeting families searching online for Russian Blue kittens and other purebred cat breeds.

I observed a significant increase in pet scams beginning in 2020 during the pandemic, with scammers increasingly targeting individuals searching online for Russian Blue kittens (as well as buyers seeking other purebred cat breeds). In the summer of 2024, one scammer — believed to be operating out of Cameroon, Africa — began using my cattery's name "Russian Blue Kitten Adoption" to defraud people online. This individual even created a website and logo incorporating part of my cattery's name!

I believe the same scammer created a social media page on Facebook in November of 2025. This scammer stole photos and a video of my kittens and cats from my social media pages, and then he put together a shoddy, clone page to dupe people into believing that they were buying a Russian Blue kitten from me. He made sure to block my actual Facebook page so that I would not catch on.

I learned of this scheme when a victim reached out to me directly and told me about it and showed me screenshots of their conversation on Facebook Messenger. He will claim that "Annabel is not here, but I can help you." Huge red flag!

I reached out to the scammer and gave him an earful — he then proceeded to try to extort me. So evil, and shameful.

As a result, I created this web-page to help educate the public and encourage greater awareness and caution regarding this type of crime, particularly for buyers searching for Russian Blue kittens for sale or looking to adopt a purebred Russian Blue kitten online through Russian Blue Kitten Adoption.

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE

There is a scammer online who created a fake website using part of my cattery name "Russian Blue Kitten Adoption" to confuse and scam people. The scammer goes by the name Daniel Liam (please note, he may go by other names, and that name is most likely a fake), and he say's that he's based out of Texas, or Arkansas in some cases. He has already been reported to the BBB and FTC. I have done what I can to report him for copyright infringement with Google since he pays for ads with them, and with the company that he is hosting his crooked website with as well. If you have questions about our legitimate breeding program, please visit our FAQ page or contact us directly.

This Important Notice Was Posted on 9/10/2024. This notice will remain on my website until the scammers fraudulent website is removed from the Internet.

Please be careful when you interact with people online. Scammers do not want to speak over the phone with you, they prefer to communicate via text only. They have thick accents, and are concerned with the amount of time they spend on the phone with you because of international call rates (they are usually out of the country). They only want to be paid via BITCOIN or western union or gift cards. Legitimate breeders of Russian Blue kittens have smart phones and can easily text/email you a video of the kitten they are selling. Scammers lure people in with stolen pictures from the Internet, and with cheap kitten prices (usually between $400.00 – $700.00) for supposed Russian Blue kittens for sale. If you look closely the picture backgrounds never match, they are always different and that's because those photos they are stealing are from different breeders web-pages, families, homes, etc. Trust your gut. View our available kittens to see our legitimate Russian Blue kittens for sale.

🚨 Common Red Flags - Warning Signs of Pet Scams

  • Prices that are too good to be true - Purebred Russian Blue kittens from reputable breeders typically cost $1,000-$2,000. Be suspicious of prices significantly lower than this.
  • Pressure to send money immediately - Scammers create urgency to prevent you from thinking clearly or doing research.
  • Only accepts wire transfers, gift cards, or cryptocurrency - These payment methods are untraceable and cannot be refunded.
  • Poor grammar and spelling in communications - Many scams originate from overseas.
  • Stock photos or stolen images - Use reverse image search to verify photos are authentic.
  • No health guarantees or contracts - Reputable breeders always provide written contracts and health guarantees.
  • Claims to ship kittens without meeting you first - Responsible breeders want to meet potential owners.
  • Multiple breeds available - Reputable breeders typically specialize in one or two breeds.
